THE GREEN AND ROTTEN PEAR
A schoolboywas walking
going one day with his grandfather
and under a pear tree
he found a pear on the ground.
Look at it, take it, bite;
more quickly throws the morsel,
how rotten on one side
was and the other green.
Grandpa, how will it be
the boy said spitting,
what this pear I'm seeing
rotten, though green, is it?
The old man with sweetness
He said: poison him that evil
for falling from the pear tree
without it being ripe.
The same happens to the fool
that, being in adolescence,
disregard prudence
of his parents with contempt;
to whom he trusts in himself
as in a fruitful resource
and ignoring what the world is
Engulf yourself in it without a guide.
Who thus tries to deny
due veneration
in the field of life
he rots unripe.
