At this very instant
bodies have ceased to exist; there are only souls
that long for each other, want to see each other,
penetrate each other without end.

                                                        And this desire
never ends, for the power
of its fire is the orbit
of the soul: the universe.

Two universes
—O impossible possibility of love!—
mutually penetrating
with a desire for two eternities!

Both souls come out embracing
and depart; two bodies remain,
isolated, dead, cold!
